This fortnight’s selection under the Skilled Migrant Category offered hope to many migrants without job offers who have been waiting patiently for selection. More applicants without job offers were selected this fortnight than has been the case for some time.
The selection resulted in:
220 applications selected with a points total of 140 or more.
55 applications selected with a points total between 100 and 140. These applicants had offers of skilled employment in New Zealand.
71 applications selected with a points total of between 100 and 140 which included 15 points for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.
225 applications selected with a points total of between 100 and 140 which included 10 points for work experience or a qualification in an area of absolute skill shortage.
47 applications selected with 120 to 140 points with no points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled employment in New Zealand, work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage or for a qualification in an area of absolute skill shortage.
A total of 618 applications – representing 1,441 people – were selected. These applicants will now undergo preliminary checks.
248 out of the 618 of the applications were from people with job offers or a job.
