The New Zealand Immigration Service has released this fortnight’s figures for successful expressions of interest for the Skilled Migrant Category.

Points requirements were again somewhat more relaxed than in recent months.

EOIs were selected as follows:

  • 468 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above.
  • 113 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled employment in New Zealand.
  • 79 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included 15 points for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.
  • 27 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 110 or more but less than 140, and included 10 points for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.
  • 50 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 105 or more but less than 140, and included 10 points for a qualification in an area of absolute skill shortage.

A total of 737 applications – representing 1,626 people – were selected. These applicants will now undergo preliminary checks.

555 out of the 737 applications were from people who already have job offers or a job.
